McHugh, Dennis Patrick “Grass Roots” Political Activist, of Delray Beach, FL., formerly of West Roxbury and Weymouth passed away on May 26, 2015. Mr. McHugh was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial, class of 1942. He entered the Navy in March of 1943 and was discharged in May of 1946.
Late U.S. Postal Service employee, retiring in 1981 with 31 years service. Mr. McHugh worked in political campaigns from the School Committee to the Presidency. After retiring from the Postal Service he worked as an aide in the office of Maura Hennigan. He also worked in the Raymond Flynn Administration in the Administrative Service Dept.
Mr. McHugh is survived by his wife Marie (Schavrien) McHugh. Devoted father of Paul McHugh and the late Robert McHugh. Loving grandfather of Kerry, Justin, Leeanne, Christopher and Jonathan.
Funeral from the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury Monday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4pm. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery Malden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dennis' memory to Aid to Cancer Research P.O.
