Dr. Edward L.Storer, 84, a long time resident of Brighton for 46 years, Needham for 32 years and Foxboro for 3 years, passed away on March 13, 2005 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the Pond Home in Wrentham. From January 12, 1942 to October 30, 1945 Dr. Storer served honorable as a Medic in World War II’s Africa Campaign with the 8th Army Air Depot Group, United States Army Air Corps. Dr. Storer was an optometrist in Allston and Medford, MA for over 40 years. Dr. Storer, a Disabled Veteran, was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Dr. Storer was also a member of the Needham Country Club and Needham Retired Men’s Club. Dr. Storer loved music, golf, all the New England sports teams and was so grateful to have seen his beloved Red Sox win a World Championship during his lifetime. He frequently played the piano for his friends in the Pond Home, Wrentham, MA and was frequently called upon to do encore performances. Dr. Storer is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Allison (Grant) Storer. He was the father of Paul and his wife Darlene Storer of Midlothian VA, Bruce and his wife Rosemary Storer of Foxboro and Philip and his wife Deolinda Storer of Newton. Dr. Storer was the brother of Phil Storer of Mountainhome PA. He also leaves five granddaughters, one grandson and one great grandson. A Funeral Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Thursday March 17th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday at 1:45 PM.
