Pauline T. (Daigle) Sarto, 88 years of age and a long time resident of South Lawrence died on May 26, 2015 at Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Lawrence, Pauline received her education at Sacred Heart School. She met her late husband Anthony working at Service Wood Heel Co. on Island Street where she had been employed for 33 years. Because they were always together, the two of them changed occupations together and for several years were employed with the Arlington Trust Co. and again the husband and wife combination went to Compugraphic known today as AGFA where they stayed until retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Sarto was an attendant of Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church, and an Auxiliary member of St. Rita’s Sodality of that Parish. She was also a member of the Young Heart Club, and the Lawrence Senior Center. Mrs. Sarto donated much of her time as a cherished friend and office volunteer of the Big Brother/Big Sister Association in Lawrence, MA.
Pauline enjoyed listening to the music of the Big Band Era, Dancing, Knitting, and Crafts.
She was the widow of Anthony Sarto, and is survived by a daughter Barbara S. and her husband Robert C. Nickerson of NH, and a son Andrew A. and his wife Jeanne P. (Curran) Sarto of Maine, a brother Harvey Daigle of Natick, 1 grandson Patrick A. and his wife Cheryl Sarto, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call today, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Mausoleum at Immaculate Conception/St. Mary’s Cemetery on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment to immediately follow the funeral service.
