Thomas R. Ciampa
Retired U.S. Postal Service Worker

ANDOVER- Thomas R. Ciampa, age 67, of Andover, formerly of Lowell, Tewksbury, E. Boston, Revere and Chelsea, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Geary) Ciampa, with whom he would have celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2015.
Born in Chelsea on April 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Samuel and Frances (Golisano) Ciampa.
Tom was raised in East Boston and attended East Boston schools.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in North Reading for 11 years.
He was a member, presidential candidate, and former shop steward for the American Postal Workers Union Local # 366. In addition, he was a former board member of the Linamen Center in Boston.
Tom enjoyed politics and was a 1977 Chelsea mayoral candidate and a 1979 Revere mayoral candidate.
Tom was a former member of the Wilmington Knights of Columbus # 4982.
Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by Step-daughter, Tammy Steeves of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Eric Steeves, Jr., Zachary and Megan Steeves; two sisters, Linda Ciampa and Gracie Powe both of E. Boston; two brothers, John Ciampa of Somerville and Joseph Ciampa and his wife Pat of Hollis, NH; also many nieces and nephews.
Tom was the brother of the late Salvatore Ciampa.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Friday, May 29, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., Rte. 38, Wilmington. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
