Carlos R. Costa, age 83, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Born in Fernais de Luz, São Miguel, Açores he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria do Carmo (Raposo) da Costa, and was the beloved husband of Eduarda (Ferreira) Costa. He was a construction worker for various construction companies, enjoyed gardening and was a musician in the Our Lady of Light Band for many years.
He is survived by his children; Lydia M. Carvalho (husband John), Carlos M. Costa (wife Ercilia), Cecilia R. Viveiros (husband Manuel), and Steven Costa (wife Natalie), siblings; Eduardo, Anibal and Antero Costa, Fernando (Costa) Lopes, Lubelia Medeiros, Lilia Aguiar, Lucia Gouveia, grandchildren; Cindy Arruda (husband Messias), Keith Carvalho (wife Kristen), Melissa Vieira (husband Victor), Ryan Viveiros, and Trevor Costa, great-grandchildren; Evan and Emma Arruda, Hailey Carvalho, and Nathan Vieira, and many nieces and nephews.
The Costa family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of St. Anne’s Hospital and Sarah Brayton Nursing Home for all of their exceptional care and support during his illness.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on THURSDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on WEDNESDAY from 5-8 P.M.
