Mrs. Doris L. (Raymond) Caron, of Berkley, died Thursday, May 21 in the Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River, following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Leo J. Caron, who died in 2008. She was born 85 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Marion (French) Raymond. She was educated in Berkley, where she had resided for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 2007, Doris had been employed as an assistant librarian for the Town of Berkley for 36 years. She was a member of the Lydia Cobb-Quequechan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Fall River and Taunton, the Happy Hearts of Berkley and the Berkley Historical Society. She enjoyed camping with her late husband and her children, traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada, and was avid in the research of her family, French and Caron. Doris was a communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Taunton.
She leaves: 2 sons: James F. Caron and his wife, Sandra R. of West Chester, Pa., and Joseph L. Caron of Berkley; 3 daughters: Irene M. Allie and her husband, Jeffrey J. of Dighton, Mary L. Donahue and Anne M. Caron, both of Berkley; 4 grandchildren: Brian D. Viera, Andrew J. Caron and his wife, Jennifer, Timothy P. Caron and his wife, Renee, and Kathleen L. Caron Trainor and her husband, Charles; 7 great grandchildren: Benjamin, Jeffrey, T.J., Sean and Elizabeth Caron, Kimberly and Kevin Trainor, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Doris was also the sister of the late Allen F. Raymond of Berkley.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, May 27 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
