WORCESTER____Vera (Repekta) Westerlind, 78, of 68 Svenson Ave., died Saturday March 12 in her home.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Frank Westerlind, Sr., four sons, Frank Westerlind, Jr., Philip Westerlind, Stephen Westerlind and John Westerlind all of Worcester; two daughters, Donna Bruce of Worcester and Sandra Griggs of Millbury; a sister, Mary Rawlings of Framingham; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Repekta and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Westerlind was a nurse’s aide 19 years for St. Vincent Hospital and Providence House Nursing Home and also once worked as a stitcher.
Vera enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was known for her handmade christening outfits.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 15 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Service at 10 a.m. in the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection, 63 Laurel St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday March 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Requiem service will be held at 7 p.m. during calling hours.
