MARGERY MAXINE PINSON

MASHANTUCKET- Margery Maxine (Sebastian) Pinson, 67, of 9 Pequot Village, Mashantucket, died Thursday at W.W. Backus Hospital with her family at her side.

Mrs. Pinson was born in Saunderstown, RI on November 4, 1937 to Clifford S. and Mabel Louise (Perry) Sebastian. A respected elder of the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Tribe, she had served as Office Manager of the Tribal Health Department. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Mystic.

She is survived by her husband, Sammie Lee Pinson; a daughter, Evelyn Pinson of Mystic; a granddaughter, Tia M. Pinson of Mashantucket; 2 great-grandchildren, Ernest E. Pompey Jr. and Sammie Lee Pompey, both of Mashantucket; 6 siblings, Myrtis Simmons of Wakefield RI, Clifford Sebastian Jr., Phyllis Waite, Richard F. Sebastian, Vincent A. Sebastian, and Juanita H. Reels, all of Mashantucket, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by 6 siblings, Mason Champlin, Doris LaCorbienere, Evelyn Reels, Emanuel Sebastian, Constance Sebastian, and Harold Champlin.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Sunday from 5-7pm. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial services will follow at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Burial Ground. An additional Memorial Service will be conducted at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 190 Flanders Rd, Mystic on Wednesday at 7pm.
