Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores. Son of the late Manuel Agostinho Camara and the late Virginia de Jesus (Morais) Camara. He was a N. Dartmouth resident for 10 months, previously he resided in Fall River, MA. Before retiring, he was a Trimmer at The Tannery in Taunton. While in Portugal, he was a Farmer. He was a member of the Afonso Costa Republican Club. He was a member of St. Michael Church.
Besides his wife of N. Dartmouth, he is survived by Three Sons: Jose Antero Camara of No. Dartmouth, MA, Antonio da Camara of Swansea, MA and Agostinho Camara of No. Dartmouth, MA. Three Daughters: Maria Conceicao Dias of Somerset, MA, Maria Lurdes Benevides of Ontario, Canada and Maria Natalia Da Ponte of Fall River, MA. Father-in-law of Maria Camara, Manuela da Camara, Manuel Dias, Carlos Benevides and Francisco Da Ponte. Grandfather of Robert and Tony da Camara, Natalie Papaleo, Lean Camara, Debra Pacheco, Elizabeth Loder, Kevin Benevides, Derek, Leslie and Dustin Da Ponte.Five Great Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Agostinho, Joao, and Manuel Camara, and Virginia Costa and Mary Chaves.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Saturday at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River, MA at 9:00AM. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Calling hours Friday 5-9 PM
