Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Obituary
Mrs. Callahan died Monday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Callahan. She was born in Stoughton daughter of the late Albert J. and Gertrude (Sheridan) Sampson. For the past 85 years she had been a resident of Brockton. She was a graduate of Brockton High School.
She was devoted to her home and family, and had been a teacher’s assistant at Self Help and a librarian at Massasoit Community College. Her hobbies included oil painting, reading and family geneology.
She is survived by one daughter Mary Jane Wood of N. Easton, two sons E. James Callahan of Pasadena, CA and Michael S. Callahan of E. Wareham, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Eagan, Francis Sampson, Walter Sampson, Alice Robinson, Lillian Amsden and Gertrude Brauner.
