Antonina Scola, 83 of Medford died Sunday after a brief illness in the Aberjona Nursing Center Winchester, MA.
Born in Sicily, she lived in Medford since 1953 and fomerly of the North End of Boston. She was the daughter of the late Emanuella (Giammanco) and Emanuel Vernaci. She was a Homemaker.
Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Scola. Devoted mother of Dr. Paul Scola of Florida, Donna McNamara of Peabody, Dr. John Scola of Naples, FL, Michael Scola of Wakefield, Dr. Joseph Scola of Stoneham, Ritamarie Scola of Medford, Mary Ann Bartlet of Brockton, and the late Lawrence Scola. Also survived by 14 loving grandchildren and 6 loving great grandchldren. Sister of Isabelle Vitale of Milton, Serafino Vernaci of Saugus, and Rosemarie Fitts of Essex.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
