Josephine M. Galimi, 93 of Somerville died Saturday unexpectedly in the Somerville Hospital Somerville, MA.
Born and raised in the West End of Boston, she lived in Somerville for the past 50 years and was the daughter of the late Francesca (Galino) and Francis Saraceno. Josephine was a Seamstress, in the garment industry in the Boston area all her life and retired at the age of 71. She was very active and enjoyed playing Bingo, sewing, baking and tending to her garden. Josephine was a member of the ILGWU and the Cross St. Elderly Center in Somerville.
Beloved wife of the late Fortunato Galimi. Devoted mother of Fred Galimi and his wife Doreen of Winchester, and Nancy Tansino and her husband Paul of Stoneham. Loving grandmother of Steven and Nicole Galimi, Alaina and Julianne Tansino. Sister of the late Patrick, Vincent, and Paul Saraceno.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
