Paul H. Benoit 60 of 15 Maplewood Ave. died Thursday (April18) at home after an illness.
His wife of 34 years Ann M. (Gardula) Benoit died last year. He leaves a son Matthew P. Benoit of Yardley, PA and a daughter Nicole M. Benoit of New Orleans, LA, and a grandson. He was born in Worcester son of Hervey and Loda (Brigham) Benoit. He graduated from Worcester State College and received his masters of education from Worcester State College and then received his certificate of advanced graduate studios from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
He was the director of Human Resources for the Fitchburg Public School System prior to that he was principal at the Hosmer and Laurel St. School, Hosmer and Walnut St. School, Memorial Middle School and the Reingold Elementary School all in Fitchburg.
He was a member of the National Education Association and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
A Funeral will be held Monday (April22) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday (April21) from 3 to 6p.m. at the funeral home.
