Obituary

George L. Goulet Sr., 82, of 60 Riverfront Dr., Manchester, died November 5, 2001, at Integrated Health Services at Manchester, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Manchester, September 22, 1919, he was the son of Achille and Emma (Lavoie) Goulet. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He graduated from Central High School in 1938.

During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He served in the 88th Infantry Division in Italy and was a member of the 350th Regiment K Company. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

A retired postal worker, he worked at the Manchester Post Office for many years.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18. In addition he was a member of the Hooksett Men’s Club, the A.A.R.P., and the National Association of Federal Employees.

He was a communicant of St. Edmond Church.

Family members include his wife of 60 years, Irene L. (Archambault) Goulet of Manchester; a son, George L. Goulet Jr. of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and an aunt.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated November 8, 2001 in St. Edmond Church. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 399 Silver St., Manchester, 03103 or the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, 03104.
