Obituary

Haddad, Abraham J. 73, of Southboro, former longtime resident of West Roxbury, died on Tuesday March 1, 2005. Loving son of Mary K. and the late John S. Haddad. Devoted brother of the Rev. James J. Haddad, senior priest of the Archdiocese of Boston and the late William S. Haddad. After graduating from Boston College in 1952 he attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, graduating as Valedictorian of his class in 1956. While earning a Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1961 he began a long career as a member of the faculty at the college. During his almost forty years at the college he taught in the Department of Pharmacy and served in a variety of Administrative positions, some being Moderator of the Newman Club, Moderator of the Foreign Students Club, Academic Dean and Dean of Students. When the college acquired the Hampden College of Pharmacy, he served as its first Dean, located then in Springfield. He later returned to the Boston campus serving as Vice President, a position he held until his retirement. He was the recipient of many Professional Awards and had memberships in many Professional Organizations. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Saturday March 5 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will follow at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations in Abraham’s name may be to the St. Joseph School Advancement Fund, 110 May Street Needham MA 02492
