Obituary

BROOKFIELD-Donnell M. Couming, 88 of 18 Pleasant Street formerly of 11 Inwood Road, Auburn died Thursday, April 18th in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness. His wife, Grace I. (Stewart) Couming died in 1976. He leaves 3 sons, William R. Couming of Millbury, Timothy M. Couming of Goffstown, NH, Joseph D. Couming of Brimfield; 3 daughters, GraceAnn Dee of Auburn, Veronica H. Kay of Brookfield, Patricia M. Boyle of E. Providence, RI; a sister, Doris Healy of Port Richey, FL; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester the son of Matthew J. and Anastasia (Wall) Couming. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Auburn and the Auburn Senior Citizens. Mr. Couming worked as a sheet metal worker at American Steel & Wire for 40 years retiring in 1972. He then worked at University of Massachusetts until 1976.

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM the morning of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Center of Hope-Special Olympics, P.O. Box 66, Southbridge, MA 01550 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
