Ethyl Pelunis, of Atlantic Beach, NY, died April 18, 2002, at the Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester, NH. She was born in New York City, NY on January 5, 1912, a daughter of the late David and Anna (Wachsman) Bieler and was a lifelong resident of Atlantic Beach, NY. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah. She co-owned Jilmar, Inc. with her husband Lee, where she was also a doll designer. She was formerly very active in the Girlscouts, the Community Chest, the PTA and UNICEF in the Five Towns area. She was predeceased by her husband Lee Pelunis who died in 1977.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Fox of Foster City, Calif., Jill D. Pelunis of Derry, NH, five grandchildren, Lila and Corey Fox, Lisa, David and Ali Pelunis-Messier, and one nephew, Alan Wolnek of Lighthouse Point, FL.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 21st at 2:00 in the New Montefiore Cemetery in W. Babylon, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Etz Hayim Synagogue Building Fund, PO Box 1600, Derry, NH 03038 or to the American Heart Assoc., National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements.
