Ronald Lee "Ron" McClain
July 11, 1941 - May 16, 2015

Ronald Lee "Ron" McClain, 73, of Anderson died May 16, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness surrounded by his family.

He was born July 11, 1941 in Evansville, IN.

He graduated in 1958 from Anderson High School.
He served in the United States Army.

He was a starter repairman for Delco Remy division of General Motors for 33 1/3 years before retiring on February 28, 1993.

He was a member of Eagles, Moose, American Legion and U.A. W. local 662.

He enjoyed golfing, billiards, pinball, yo-yo's and singing.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Kay "Patty" (Murdock) McClain of Anderson whom he married July 17, 1993 in Anderson; four children, Ruthie (Jerry) Maggart of Alexandria; Larry (Missi) McClain of Anderson; Rod (Abby) Spurlin of Sidney, IN and Crystal Spurlin (Rafat Nelini) of Anderson; eleven grandchildren, including his favorite person in the world, Lynee' Coverdale; Jeremiah Lane(Tori Fox); Emilee McClain; Maddie McClain; Logan McClain; Mason McClain; Max McClain; Lilly McClain; Lucy McClain; Luke Spurlin; Lily Spurlin; great granddaughter, Taitum Lane; three sisters, Toni (Pete) Cain of Middletown, Becky (Mike) Garretson of Anderson; Bonnie (Chuck) Hiday of Greentown, IN; a very special sister-in-law, Kay McClain "part-time" of Anderson; brothers-in-law, Joe (Betty) Murdock of Anderson; George (Carol) Murdock of Katy, TX; Rick (Kathy) Murdock of Texas; Mark (Frances) Murdock of Anderson; Harry Shelton of Dale City, VA; special friends Michael Lloyd and Brandon Floyd both of Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father Elmer Earl McClain, his mother and step-father Ruth Jeanette (Nienaber) and Bob Morehead and brother, Gene McClain; father-in-law, Chet Murdock; mother-in-law, Bessie Murdock; brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Frank & Vicky Murdock and Gloria Shelton.

Services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
