DRACUT - Mr. Brian “Snucker” Smith, age 58, a well known and popular former Tewksbury resident, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, on Wednesday night, May 13, from tragic injuries suffered in an accident at his Dracut home earlier in the day. He was the beloved husband and childhood sweetheart of Janice (Bagnulo) Smith, with whom he would have celebrated a thirty-fifth wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 16th.
Brian was born in Lowell, March 30, 1957, one of four children of the late Thomas and Alice (Chandler) Smith, and was raised in Tewksbury Center. He was a member of Tewksbury Memorial High School’s Class of 1975, and will be remembered for his excellence in youth sports, especially baseball.
Brian worked as a roofer throughout the Greater Lowell and Southern New Hampshire area.
Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Nicole A. Smith and Brian R. Smith, both of Dracut; his beloved granddaughter, Ayla Marie; his brother Thomas Smith and his spouse, Anne Cliff of Andover; two sisters, Mary-Anne Cliff and her husband William and Susan Zottoli and her husband Frank all of Tewksbury; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nora and Robert Bagnulo of Tewksbury; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will begin Tuesday at 9:00 from the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Following cremation, Brian will join his parents at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Lowell.
