CHICOPEE – Preston L. Micks, 43, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, May 1, 2015. He passed into eternal life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all of his cherished memories. He was born in Westfield on February 8, 1972, a beloved son of Patricia A. (Kozacki) Micks of Chicopee and the late Donald R. Micks who was Called Home on December 17, 2005. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed with the City of Chicopee Department of Public Works for 22 years and had also worked for many years at Arrowspeed Archery in Chicopee. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Chicopee Sportmen’s Club, the North American Hunting Club and a proud member of the National Rifle Association. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Besides his mother, he leaves his three daughters, Ashley M. Micks of Feeding Hills, Amber L. Micks of Blandford, and Jasmine F. Micks of Feeding Hills; his brother, Donald M. Micks and his wife, Carol B. Micks, of Feeding Hills; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended members of the Micks and Kozacki families. His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. which will conclude with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
