New Bedford, MA - Manuel Cardoso, aged 92 years, of New Bedford, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Hathaway Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Adelaide (Teixeira) Cardoso. Mr. Cardoso is survived by 4 sons: Antonio Cardoso of New Bedford, Jose Cardoso of Acushnet, Joaquim Cardoso and Adalberto Cardoso both of Dartmouth, 2 daughters: Amelia Cunha and Irene Cardoso both of Dartmouth, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 brothers: Adraino Cardoso of New Bedford and Domingos Cardoso of New York.
Mr. Cardoso was born in Albergaria-A-Velha, Portugal, the son of the late Adolfo and Barbara daConceicao (Guedes) Cardoso. He moved here, to New Bedford, with his family in 1968 from Redial, Chaves, Portugal. He was employed as a landscaper until his retirement.
There will be Visiting Hours for Mr. Cardoso on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. from 4 – 8 P.M. with Religious services at 5 P.M. officiated by Fr. Daniel Reis of Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will take place in Redial, Chaves, Portugal.
