Funeral Services for Louis Wayne Lazenby, Jr., 62, of Ashburn will be held 11:00 AM, Friday at Bethel Baptist Church in Turner Co. with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Lazenby passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Tift Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Lazenby was born in Charleston Co., S.C. to Louis Wayne and Violet Johnson Lazenby, Sr. A member of the Bethel Baptist Church he moved to Turner Co. in 1995 from Lawrenceville, Ga. He was a former Law Enforcement Agent and retired Pest Control Exterminator. He served his county as a member of the U. S. Air Force.
Survivors include his children, Christy Fowler, Sycamore, Ga.; Dana Hughes, Big Stone Gap, Virginia; Sharon Pilkinton, Sycamore, Ga. His grandchildren, Laura Angelus, Ashley Power, Jessica Fowler, Michelle Pilkinton, Amanda Pilkinton, Morgan Pilkinton and Jonathan Hughes. A great granddaughter Isabella Angelus. His sister and brothers Connie Purcell, Marshville, N.C., Gary Lazenby, Snellville, Ga. and Henry Lazenby, Duluth, Ga.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Perry Funeral Chapel from 6 till 8.
