Ruby Jones Walters, 90, of Ocilla, Georgia died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Palmyra Nursing Home, Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, Georgia, with Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at 4 PM, at Lilly Cemetery, Lilly, Georgia. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8, Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Walters was born May 12, 1914, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late James T. and Lovie Talbot Jones. She lived in the community since 1948 and was a former resident of Texas and Brunswick, Georgia. Mrs. Walters was a homemaker, a former beautician in Vienna, Georgia and a former saleslady at Hybernia’s in Ocilla. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her grandchildren: Gus (Beth) Walters, III, Albany, GA, Tori Walters, Asheville, NC and Kristine (Mark) Parsons, Atlanta, GA; six great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law: Ima Jean Walters, Ashburn, GA and Bunny Coombs, Macon, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Walters, Sr. and two sons, Gus Walters, Jr. and James T.“Bubba” Walters.
