WORCESTER-John J. White, Sr., 85 of 32 Fales Street, died Tuesday, February 22nd in Shrewsbury Nursing Home. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Virginia M. (Stenmark) White, a son, John J. White, Jr. of Hampton, NH, 2 daughters, Virginia Garry of Worcester and Jeri Taronas of Paxton, 2 sisters, Eileen Blanchard of Worcester and Mary Hewitt of Cocoa Beach, FL, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. A brother James White predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Patrick and Ellen (McCarthy) White graduated from South High School and was an Army-Air Force veteran serving as an Air Traffic Controller during World War II. Mr. White worked at New England Telephone Company for many years retiring in 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Telephone Pioneer’s of America and Greendale Retired Men’s Club.
The funeral is Friday, February 25th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, February 24th from 3:00 until 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
