New Bedford Linda Gomes died at home Sunday February 20, 2005.She was the loving Mother of Richard Marshall Jr. of New Bedford, and Kelly L. Nunes of South Dartmouth. She was the Sister of John “Chubby” Gomes, and August “Goo-Goo” Gomes, Virginia Gomes, Barbara Chumack, and Carol Gomes. Her Stepsons: Ricardo, Johnnie, and Jermaine Morales, all of New Bedford, David T. and Manny Silva Both of New Bedford. She also had several deceased Brothers: Robert “Bobby”, Richard “Dickie”, Manuel “Manny Goat” Gomes, and deceased Sisters: Dale Gomes Spaziano and Marie Gomes
Mrs. Gomes was the Daughter of the late Elsie (Martin) and John R. Gomes. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She was a Secretary for the City of New Bedford. She was a member of the United Social Club.
A Funeral Mass will take place February 24, 2005 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Wednesday February 23, 2005 from 5-8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth Street New Bedford, MA.
