Obituary

Framingham: Edith Crosby Sturgeon, 91, died peacefully and comfortably on Sunday, May 3, 2015 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Boston on November 12, 1923 the daughter of the late Stanley Crosby and Edith E. (Crowell) Crosby.
She was the wife of the late William E. Sturgeon who died in 1977. Edith is survived by her son, Bruce G. Sturgeon of Southborough, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Pearl Sjoquist, George, Stanley and Warren Crosby.
Edith has been a resident of Framingham for over 62 years and lived in Boston during her formative years. She graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. For over 21 years, Edith was associated with the Town of Framingham School Department as a Cafeteria Assistant. For many years she was a retail sales associate for Sears and Filenes in Natick. Edith was a very spirited and independent woman and adored her companion and best friend, her dog Buddy.
At Edith’s request, there will be no funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the MSPCA – Angell, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 or Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
