Obituary


Mr. Almon E. Farrar, 89, of 1280 Rte 2, Randolph, NH passed away on Friday February 18, 2005 at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH. He was born in Bethel, ME on February 19, 1916 the son of Ernest and Mildred Farrar. He lived in Grafton, ME until the age of 2 and has since resided in Randolph. He graduated from high school in Whitefield, NH and worked as a mechanic in the Woods Department at Brown Company. He had also been employed by the Grand Trunk Railroad. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the VFW Post 2520 in Berlin, the Odd Fellows Lodge in Jefferson, NH, the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion and the Rebekah’s. He also served as a Deputy Fire Fighter Warden in Randolph and was a former selectman in Randolph for many years.

Members of the family include his wife Verna (Rix) Clark-Farrar of Randolph, NH; 3 sons Dale Farrar of Berlin, NH, Blaine Farrar of DeBary, FL and Jamie Farrar of Conway, NH; 1 daughter Donna (Farrar) Cairns of Randolph, NH; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister Evelyn Ross of Gorham, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Josephine Farrar in September 1985.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the Jefferson Christian Church in Jefferson, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH on Monday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
