Manchester– Clyde Joseph Baker, 76, died May 6, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side following a period of declining health.
He was born on April 12, 1939 the son of Gabrielle (Belanger) Baker and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School class of 1958.
He attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, then earned his degree from New England Institute of Embalming and Mortuary Sciences in Boston.
One of his greatest enjoyments was spending time with family and friends at his beautiful beach house, “Myra Maines”, which he lovingly restored.
He was the President of the J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, NH Funeral Directors Association, Club Jolliet, and Club Richelieu.
Family members include his wife of 49 years, Adele (Boufford) Baker, son Edmond Boufford Baker and his wife, Shauna of Manchester, son Dr. Clyde Gregory Baker of New York, NY., his two grandchildren that meant the world to him, Jameson Charlotte Baker, and Edmond Joseph Boufford Baker, one niece, Linda (Lefebvre) Ford of New Smyrna Beach, FL, one grand-niece, Alanna Brooke, of Los Angeles, CA, one grand-nephew, Robert Lefebvre of Port Orange, FL, his close friend George Nassoura, and several cousins and extended family members that he loved dearly.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral.
Entombment and committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
