Sonya E. Penta, 78, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday May 5, 2015 in the Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH. She was born in Sanford, ME on October 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Norris and Emelienne (Binette) Chesley. She had been a resident of Derry since 1999, formerly living in Burlington, MA and Georgetown, MA. Mrs. Penta enjoyed genealogy, crafting, tending her flowers, her kitty, drives by the Maine coast, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Penta of Derry; three daughters, Kathy Curtin and her husband David, Brenda Penta, and Dawn Penta, all of Derry; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her brother, Frank Chesley and his wife Linda of Sanford, ME.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, May 7th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A graveside service was held on Friday at 10:30am in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
