Obituary

Rose M. (Ansaloni) Daly, 93 of Salem, died unexpectedly, at her home, Monday, May 4, 2015. She was the devoted wife of Ernest L. Daly with whom she had shared 68 years of marriage.

Born in Brookline and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Ernesta (Diozzi) Ansaloni.
Over the years, Rose worked as a bookkeeper for several companies including several law offices. She retired from Salem Suede. In her younger years she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and has been a long time member of the Dante Alighieri Society of Boston, The Order of Alhambra Lugo Caravan, The VFW Auxiliary, The Son of Italy and the Sodality of the former St. Mary’s Italian Church of Salem.

She and her husband Ernie were devoted to their family and large extended family. They lived active social lives with their many friends and organizational events. In her free time Rose loved reading and knitting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by their daughter Jean L. Rockett of Salem, her brother, Rev. Edmund Ansaloni, OFM of Clearwater, FL, A sister, Mary T. Michaud and her husband Norman of Salem, 2 grandchildren, Janelle Blakely of Orlando, FL, Katherine Rockett of Salem, 3 great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob and Aiden of Hartwell, GA as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Ernest L. Daly, Jr., granddaughter Krisitin Snyder, and brothers, Louis & Vincent Ansaloni.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave, Salem at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, May 6th at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 15 Mount Carmel Rd., Danvers, MA 01923 or the Veterans Organization of your choice.
