Joseph J Bottari passed away suddenly at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was 84. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, he was the son of the late Andrea and Antonina (Ruggerio) Bottari. A dedicated and hardworking man, he owned and operated the Penalty Box Café at North Station for over 50 years. A proud West Ender, he was a longtime supporter of the West End House. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed travelling to warm climates in the winter.
The beloved husband of Mary (Pontremoli) Bottari, he was a loving father to Nina Maloney and her husband Vincent of Medford. He is predeceased by his son Andrew Bottari.
A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, May 7 in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 6 from 4-8 PM at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA.
