Mia D. (Barboza) Correia, 50, of New Bedford died Monday April 27, 2015 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Michael A. Correia.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Margaret P. (Perry) Barboza of Taunton and the late Anthony Barboza, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mia worked as a personal care attendant for the Cerebral Palsy Association.
She loved camping, cookouts, and family time.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a daughter, Jannell Correia of Fall River; her siblings, Anthony Barboza, Jr. of Taunton, Leonard A. Barboza, Serena Barboza, and Ann Marie Nelson, all of New Bedford, Troy Barboza of North Carolina, and Rhonda Barboza Araujo of Attleboro; two grandchildren, Tiana-Lei Acevedo and Avery Acevedo; her Godchild, Anthony K. Barboza; her Godmother, Julie Barboza; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Kim Barboza.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 9 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 5-8 PM.
