Muriel L. (Bergstrom) Hall, 79, formerly of 14 Willard Ave., Worcester, died peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Christopher House, of Worcester.
She leaves her beloved husband of 57 years, David L. Hall of Worcester; a son, David L. Hall, Jr. and his wife, Minta of Essex; two daughters, Christine L. Curran and her husband, John of West Boylston, Karen K. Todd and her husband, Paul of Charlton; 8 grandchildren, Bergen Daley and her husband, Michael, Jerusha Hall, Callie Curran, Timothy Curran, Janet Curran, James Todd, Katherine Todd, and Kyle Todd; one great-grandchild, Michael Scott Daley. She is also survived by two sisters, Katherine LeMay of Worcester and Carolyn McIntyre of Apex, NC.
She was born in Cambridge, MA, the daughter of Everett E. and Katherine (Reidy) Bergstrom. She was a life long resident of Worcester. Muriel graduated as class valedictorian from Classical High School in 1942 and Phi Beta Kappa from Clark University in 1947. At Clark, she was a member of the second class to graduate women.
Muriel was a devoted mother and grandmother providing a home filled with warmth and love. She was a member of The First Congregational Church of Worcester and belonged to its Women’s Fellowship. She taught Sunday school and served on the Board of Deacons. She also worked devotedly for many years on the church’s Senior Lunch program.
A memorial service will be held at The First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant St., Worcester on Saturday, February 19, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., is directing arrangements.
