Obituary

Methuen – Clare M. (McAvoy) Budrevich, 89 of Methuen, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Oxford Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Haverhill, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Budrevich.

Born in Lawrence on November 15, 1925, Clare was the daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Arlitt) McAvoy. She attended Lawrence schools and worked as an assembler with Western Electric for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Rainbow Club of Methuen, the Methuen Senior Center, and Western Electric’s Pioneers Club. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, traveling with the Senior Center, and vacationing with her family.

Clare will be deeply missed by her 3 daughters, Ann Marie Floyd and her husband, Warren of Salem, NH, Charlene DeBenedetto and her husband, Michael of Methuen, and Dorothy McMullin of Epping, NH; her sister, Peggy Rochette of Methuen; 8 grandchildren, Lisa, April, Jason, Stacey, Melissa, Stephen, Eric, and Kelly; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Clare’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Entombment will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Clare’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 or to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her wonderful neighbors, Tina and Russ Baril, Tony Corsetti, and the Millville family, who were always there for her, to the staff at the Oxford Nursing Home for the exceptional care they gave to their “Clare Bear,” and to the hospice nurses who visited her regularly at the nursing home.
