CHICOPEE – Francis K. Senecal, 72, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, April 24, 2015. He passed into Eternal Life at Heywood Hospital in Gardner surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born at home on Chicopee Street in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on February 28, 1943, a beloved son of the late Maurice J. and Alvina (Boutin) Senecal. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Vocational High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was last employed as a machine press operator at the Springfield Republican Newspaper. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and a member of the Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus in Chicopee and the Archbishop Williams Assembly Fourth Degree. During his leisure time, Francis enjoyed bowling, fishing and watching old western movies. His favorite holiday was Christmas where he enjoyed dressing as Santa Claus and delighted many children at a family day care. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Denise M. (Barton) Senecal; his two dear step-daughters, Jeannette Cowles of Chicopee and Denise M. Lambert and her husband, Jason, of South Jacksonville, FL; his dear step-granddaughter, Hailey Michelle Lambert; his two dear brothers, Robert Senecal and his wife, Rita, of Roseville, CA and Henry Senecal and his wife, Pamela, of Easthampton; his two dear sisters, Pauline M. Dutilly of Chicopee and Ann Marie Fischer and her husband, Glen, of Portland, OR; his dear sister-in-law, Exina Senecal of Melbourne, FL; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Senecal and Barton families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his two dear brothers, Edward Senecal and Gerard Senecal who was Called Home on February 24, 2015; and his dear sister, Suzanne Muller. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, May 1, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee. His burial will be private at the convenience of his family. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning, May 1, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the Mass.
