PEABODY- Lea (Silva) Worsencroft, 77, wife of the late Richard H. Worsencroft, of Peabody, died Sunday morning, February 13, 2005 in the Beverly Hospital, following a short illness.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Anibal N. and Adelaide (Ferreira) Silva. Shortly after she was born, her family moved to Portugal and returned to the United States in 1942. She has been a resident of Beverly and Peabody for most of her life.
Mrs. Worsencroft is survived by one daughter, Lea Cormier of Newburyport, two sons, Robert and his wife Gail Cormier of Beverly, Richard Worsencroft of Rowley, one step-daughter, Susan Brathwaite of Winter Park, Florida, two grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Lori Cormier of Salem, Cheryl and Derek Johnson of Danvers, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Bella Zelano of Beverly, one sister-in-law, Ella and her husband Louis DeFrancisco of Salem, one niece, Debbie Zelano and her husband Dick Mertineit of Beverly, one nephew, Alan DeFrancisco of Sharon, one aunt and uncle, Rita and Felix “Chick” Kocur of Salem, a close cousin, Marta Nunes of Peabody and other cousins and friends including a dear friend, Virginia Carson of Salem.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
