New Bedford – Elaine A. (Magrath) Lassiter, 55, of New Bedford died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Dorothy (King) Magrath. She lived most of her life in Dartmouth, she enjoyed knitting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her widower, Michael D. Lassiter, her six children: Carol Desmarais, Donald Desmarais, Jr., Steven Desmarais and his wife Diana, Brenda Desmarais, Aaron Desmarais, Russell Desmarais and his wife Jessica, two step-daughters Crystal Lassiter and April Faria, eleven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She was also the sister of Joan Taber, Patricia Jansen and the late Raymond Magrath, Norman Magrath and Sandra Murphy. She is deeply loved and will be missed.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
