Faherty of Raynham; Kathleen Speredelozzi of W. Bridgewater; Mary Tarkanian of Brockton; Dr. Ellen Faherty of NY; Mark F.Faherty, Nora Rastetter and John F. Faherty all of PA. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A family and friends gathering will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday from 9:30 to 10:15 am. Burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:30 am. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 pm. Donations in memory of James may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
Obituary
Mr. Faherty died on Wednesday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and raised in South Boston, son of the late Matthew and Ellen (Conroy) Faherty. He was graduate of South Boston High School and had been an outstanding Athlete in football and baseball. He also attended Suffolk University. During WW II he served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force flying 55 missions in the Pacific. His career was spent as a buyer for Sears Roebuck retiring as executive buyer on east coast in 1993 after 43 years services. He was an avid reader and appreciated gourmet food.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret B. (Manning) Faherty, his children, Margaret Stephanou of Boylston, MA; James D. Faherty, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; Vincent E. Faherty of Raynham; Kathleen Speredelozzi of W. Bridgewater; Mary Tarkanian of Brockton; Dr. Ellen Faherty of Alfred, NY; Mark F. Faherty of Holland, PA; Nora Rastetter of Perkasie, PA and John F. Faherty of Philadelphia, PA. and 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
