WARREN___Boleslaw S. “Ben” Sztuka, 91, of 98 Quaboag St., died Wednesday February 9 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Anne (Juralewicz) Sztuka, a son, Lt. Col. Jan J. Sztuka, United States Air Force Reserve of Montgomery, Alabama; a granddaughter, Ashley A. Sztuka, a brother, Walter Sztuka, Jr., of Auburn; three sisters, Anna Aksten and Helen Painchaud both of Worcester and Sophie Pogorzelski of Millbury and nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Walter and Amelia (Klutka) Sztuka and later lived in California 36 years. He has resided in Warren since 1979.
Mr. Sztuka worked 30 years for General Dynamics Missile Division of Pomona, California and was a design engineer there. He retired in 1979. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a Chief Petty Officer in World War II. He also served in the Navy from 1932 to 1936.
He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Radio Electronics School and the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute. He once worked for the former WGTR and was an announcer for WBZ.
The funeral will be held on Monday February 14 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday February 13 from 2 to 5 p.m.
