BRIDGEWATER - Ruth M. (Crocker) Copeland, 84, of Bridgewater died Sunday, Jan. 30, at Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Francis R. Copeland.
Born Jan. 25, 1921, in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late James. A. and Christina M. (Larsen) Crocker.
Mrs. Copeland was a cafeteria worker at the Middle School in Bridgewater for 10 years.
She had been a Bridgewater resident for the past 73 years, where she was raised and educated.
An artist, Mrs. Copeland enjoyed painting and also church activities.
She is survived by four daughters, Marie F. Benoit, Diana R. Leach and Deborah A. Copeland-Bryant, all of Bridgewater, and Francine A. Verheyen of Arizona; two brothers, Charles A. Crocker and Norman Crocker; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece and several nephews.
Her funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Friday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Jerusalem Church, Central Square, Bridgewater, MA 02324.
