Helen E. (Minihan) Clancy, 84, of Whitman, passed away on April 21st at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Clancy.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Timothy J. and Marion J. (Cormier) Minihan.
Helen was a lifetime resident of Whitman and proud of her family for being the 5th generation in Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High, class of 1947. She worked at the Bostonian Shoe and was a Library Aide at the Regal Park and Forest Street Schools in Whitman and was a member of the Whitman Historical Society.
She enjoyed weekly card game with friends, the Cousins Club, crocheting and trips to Foxwoods and Twin Rivers.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Clancy and his wife Candy of Hanson, Kathleen Baird and her husband Bill of DE, Daniel Clancy and his wife Nancy of Hanson, Maureen Smith and her husband Larry of Raynham and Edward Clancy of Whitman, her grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Meggan and Matthew, her great Grandchildren, Kiley, Alexis, Makenzie and Makayla. She was also the sister of the late Margaret Winsor and Mary Lou Mara.
Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 28th at 9:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Visitation will be held on Monday April 27th from 4:00-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Whitman Fire Department, P.O. Box168,Whitman, MA 02382
