Joseph A. Cardente, 82, Greenville Avenue, Johnston, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home. Mr. Cardente was the owner of Portland Transmission in Providence.
Born in Providence, he was one of ten children of the late Attilio and Maria “Mary” Cardente. He had lived in Johnston since 1967 and was a member of the Smithfield Elks #2309.
He is survived by his beloved Madeline Messier, his children: Brenda Potter of Naples, FL, Lynn Cardente-Watts of Hanover, ME and Joseph Cardente of Providence, his seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and his sister Anna Forgetta of North Providence. He was the father of the late Daniel T. Cardente.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30am in Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm and Saturday 8:30-9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
