Claire T. (Fassett) Malley, 80, of Worcester, passed away Thursday April 16th in St. Francis Home. She leaves her husband of 57 years, James F. Malley, Sr.; three sons, James F. Malley, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Auburn, Michael A. Malley and his wife Mary of Worcester, and Daniel E. Malley and his wife Mary of Worcester; a daughter, Carolyn A. Kneeland and her husband Scott of Sterling; a sister, Elizabeth Snyder of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Katie, Kristen, Jonathan, Shamus, and Timary Malley, and Kaci and Quinn Kneeland. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Fassett and two sisters, Margaret Ellsworth and Mary Fassett.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Falvey) Fassett and lived here all her life. She graduated from Ascension High School and Quinsigamond Community College, where she earned a degree in Travel & Tourism. She was a travel agent for Carrolline Travel for many years and had worked for the Department of Public Welfare many years ago. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. Mrs. Malley enjoyed traveling and cooking, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Malley’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the St. Francis Home for the kindness and compassion they provided Claire during her stay with them.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 22nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 21st in the funeral home.
