Eugene Paul Haun, 75, of New Bedford died Monday February 7, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Winifred (Williams) Sullivan Haun and the late Bernice (Vasconcelles) Haun.
Born in Southgate, California, the son of the late Jess and Mura (Henzie) Haun, he lived in New Bedford for many years. He resided in Florida from 1989 to 2003 before returning to live in New Bedford.
Mr. Haun was formerly employed by the Commonwealth Electric of New Bedford until his retirement.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Haun was a Past President of Drug-Free, Inc. of Lady Lake, Florida, and the recipient of the "By George" award presented for extraordinary service to the organization. He was also a member of the Lady Lake Volunteer Police Department and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark L. Haun of New Bedford; a daughter, Christine M. Haun of Lady Lake; a brother, Dale Haun of California; a stepson, Mark J. Sullivan of New Bedford; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
A private family burial service will be held in St. John's Cemetery.
