NEW BEDFORD -- Hope Hallett Silva, 66, of New Bedford died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at New Bedford Healthcare after an extended period of declining health. She was the wife of Lynwood Silva.
A lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Doris (Grace) Hallett.
She graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School in 1956.
Mrs. Silva was an inspector at Acushnet Rubber Co. for 10 years; worked at West End CIeaners for 20 years; and was an aide at Roosevelt School for three years, retiring in 1988 due to illness.
She had been affiliated with the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with family and her best friend, Helen Junier.
Survivors include her widower; a son, Jamie Silva; a daughter, Ruth Mello; a brother, Francis Hallett; and four granddaughters.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday February 8. 2005 in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
