Dominga (Neves) Lobo, 83, of New Bedford died April 11, 2002 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Laurencio J. Lobo, and daughter of the late Theophilis and Rose (Balla) Neves. She was raised by the late Agnes N. "Chach" Silveira.
Mrs. Lobo was born in Taunton and was raised in East Wareham, and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Lobo was a member of St. Martin DePorres Society.
Dominga was the proud mother of 15 and the extended mother of many in Southeastern Massachusetts.
Survivors include 8 sons, Lawrence "Jacky" Lobo of Plymouth, Wayne F. Lobo of Mashpee, Everett "Tim" Lobo, John T. Lobo and Pastor Franklin E. Lobo, all of New Bedford, Charles N. Lobo of Taunton, Peter Lobo of Galveston, TX, and Michael A. Lobo of Boston; 6 daughters, Carol A. Lowe of Columbia, MD, Dr. Rose M. Fernandes of Stoughton, Eugenia Santos and Roberta Lobo Lopes, both of New Bedford, Dr. Mary Lobo Dorsey of Aberdeen, MD, and Christine Mitnaul of Columbus, OH; a stepdaughter, Dolores Lobo of Weymouth; 2 sisters, Geneva Grace of Randolph, MA and Dorothy Correia of New Bedford; 33 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Louis Neves, Manuel T. Neves, Frank Neves, Joaquim "Jack" Neves, Henry Tavares, and Anne Smith é Incas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Tuesday, April 16th at 11 AM.
Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Interment Rural Cemetery.
