Obituary

SALEM- Helen P. “Polly” (Senkowski) Derflinger, 80, of Salem, wife of the late Donald L. Derflinger, died Thursday morning, April 11, 2002, in the Salem Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. And Ruth (MacPhail) Senkowski.

Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed by Hood Sail Makers in Marblehead for many years.

Mrs Derflinger was a lifelong resident of Salem, a member of the First Universalist Church, Salem, a graduate of the Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, and a member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club while her late husband Donald was the Commodore.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Lee Connelly of Salem, four grandsons, Arthur King of Tampa, Florida, Mark and his wife Sandra Connelly of Danvers, Christopher and his wife Amy Connelly and Matthew and his wife Kelly Connelly, all of Salem, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2002, at 10 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, with Rev. Gail Seavey, Pastor of the First Universalist Church, Salem, officiating. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
