Obituary

Gerald J. Dray of Dedham formerly of Hyde Park, died Feb. 1, unexpectedly while vacationing in Florida. He was 87. Mr. Dray was born in Boston and was the son of the late Henry & Nora (Kelleher) Dray. He was a longtime resident of both Hyde Park and Dedham. Mr. Dray was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as an electrician for the Army Corps. of Engineers. He was a member of the Dedham American Legion Post 18.

He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Whelton) Dray. He is survived by his children Deena Dray of Honolulu, Beth Craig of Miami, FL, Ellen Dray Gelep of Needham, and Amy Dray of Cambridge.Grandfather of Emma and Grace Gelep. He was the brother of Arthur Dray of South Dartmouth and the late Walter, Joseph, and Henry “Harry” Dray Jr., Alice and Marion Dray, and Frances Capobianco.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Tue. at 8 am. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Mon. from 4-8 pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Catholic Relief Service, 75 Kneeland St., Boston, MA 02111.
