Newport – Muriel E. (Wilkie) Beardsworth, 92, of Newport, RI died Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Newport Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Ralph Q. Beardsworth.
She was born in Tiverton, daughter of the late Norman I. And Inez T. (Pearce) Wilkie, and resided in Tiverton prior to moving to Newport in 1976. She was a 75-year member of the Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton. Mrs. Beardsworth enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and baking, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 sons: Ralph Q. Beardsworth, Jr. of Newport, RI and Donald I. Beardsworth and his wife Sally of Warwick, RI; 5 grandchildren: Marlene MacElroy, Karen Vidal, Grace White, Heidi Gay and James Beardsworth; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service from 10 – 11 A.M. at Amicable Congregational Church.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton.
