Obituary

Ann Lee Mooney, 46, of Truro and Gilbert AZ died Saturday March 28th in Mesa AZ after a 16 year battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Denis and Carol (Ramey) Mooney of Truro.

Born in Dorchester on April 26, 1968, she moved to Truro in 1970. Ann attended Truro Central School and graduated from Provincetown High School in 1986. In addition to class activities, she played field hockey, basketball and softball.

After attending Stonehill College in Easton for a year, she transferred to the University of New Hampshire, graduating in 1990. After college, Ann worked in Florida, and California before moving to Las Vegas NV in 1993. In 2006, she started working for Dahn Yoga, moving to their corporate offices in Gilbert AZ three years ago. Her work with them was very important to her. She wanted to help people, and because of her spirit and compassion, she was an inspiration to all.

Ann enjoyed walking, especially on the beach, running, biking and anything related to nature and the environment. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Karen Mooney of Truro and her brother, Kevin Mooney of Las Vegas and Truro. An uncle, Arthur ‘Pat’ Mooney of Newport RI, an aunt, Dolores ‘Sis’ Rose of Provincetown; an uncle, George ‘Malcolm’ and aunt Janet (Ramey) Mooney of Truro also survive her.

Cousins Douglas, Karen, Shannon and Aidan Rose of Gansevoort, NY; Elizabeth Mooney, Mark Sammy Janoplis and Mia of South Portland, ME; Susan Mooney, George Young and Livia of New York, NY; Mark Mooney, Penny Leisring and Jack Mooney of Waterbury, CT and Truro; the Peter and Gretchen Krumpelbeck family of Wellfleet; the John and Karin Krumpelbeck family of Stamford, CT; the Jane and O.J. DiIulio family of Elkton, MD; the Mary and Tom Bentley family of Griswold, CT; the Karen and Joseph Imperato family of Bohemia, NY; Kathy and Mike Mooney of Sandwich; the Marie (Joseph) and John Tetreault III family of Truro, along with many, many friends also survive her

She was predeceased by her grandparents Alton and Emily (Dearborn) Ramey of Provincetown and Francis and Agnes (Joseph) Mooney of Truro. An aunt, Marguerite ‘Peg” (Mooney) Krumpelbeck and uncle, John Krumpelbeck of West Islip, NY and uncle Francis ‘Brud’ Mooney, Jr. of Truro also predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held Saturday, May 9th at 10:00 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown.
